The Boone County High School students in Ms. Maloney’s English III- American Literature Honors class hosted a Gallery Walk on October 11th to showcase their Individual Reading Projects that they had been working on all term. The Honors students were asked to choose an American novel that they had not previously read and then create a project that would show significant themes and characterization.
Through the process of novel selection, project proposals, writing, revision, and presentation, students were given authority and choice on how to complete their projects. On the day of the Gallery Walk, students’ families, administrators, and other English classes perused the carefully designed projects while students were at hand to answer questions about their projects and the books that they chose.
