Canned Food Drive Mary Rose Mission

Our canned food drive for Mary Rose Mission is over and what a success it was!!!  With a grand total of over 1700+ items and $75 in gift card donations, we at Jones Middle School cannot be more proud of our students and staff for the effort they gave in this project.  When so many have so little, it's wonderful to see Students, Parents, Staff, Faculty and Administration giving to the community in which we live and work and grow.  These past two weeks, Jones students lived up to our mantra - Jones Jets Pride.  Delivery was given to Mary Rose Mission 12/16/16 and they were overwhelmed with such gratitude.  Thank you Parents for allowing us at Jones to have the PRIVILEGE of teaching your children and learning from them this week just how to give and give and give.  Enjoy the video to see just a little of what went into this project.

Seussical, Jr Seussical, Jr

Oh, the Thinks You Can Think when you Think about Seuss! For three days only, the characters of Dr. Seuss will come to life in Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens' imaginative musical Seussical, Jr. For this one-act musical, the story centers around Horton the Elephant who must guard an egg abandoned by Mayzie La Bird while trying to protect his friend JoJo, a Who from Whoville. With a musical score sure to please, Seussical’s heartwarming message about family, friendship and loyalty will have children and parents alike remembering that "a person's a person no matter how small." Starring elementary and middle school students and even faculty – don’t miss RA Jones production of Seussical, Jr.  Come see the play at Boone County High School's auditorium, May 4-5th, 7:00 PM, and May 6th at 2:00 PM.

NO CELL PHONES DURING TESTING no cell phones

Per the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC):

This is a reminder that teachers and students are not to have their cell phones out during K-Prep testing.  This would be a testing violation.  If there is an emergency, you should use the phone in the classroom.  Teachers should not be communicating with anyone while testing is occurring.  Any teacher needing assistance with a situation in the classroom should contact the BAC or building administrators for assistance.

At Jones Middle School we request that students keep their cell phones at home or in their lockers (TURNED OFF). Students should not be going to their lockers to get their cell phone until after ALL students are completed with testing, when the announcement is made. Teachers are asked to keep their cell phones turned off and kept away (car/desk/front office).

From the Transportation Office

Welcome Back!  The 2016-17 school year has begun and we would like to wish you and your students a successful year.

The Transportation Department has worked diligently this summer to provide a safe environment for all our students with training for all drivers and aides.  It is our goal to provide a quality service to the community. We have established high standards of training, maintenance and conduct for each employee and we will provide the safest environment possible for each student in our care and strive to maintain our schedule of services.

Just a reminder to all parents/guardians – the buses could be running up to 20 minutes behind schedule during the first days of schools as the drivers are learning their new routes and new students.  We ask that you please have patience before calling the department with concerns regarding your student arriving home during these first few days.
