Principal's Message

Welcome to Erpenbeck Elementary School, home of the Mustangs, where our school motto is, We are Building the Community of Tomorrow Using All The Right Pieces! The mission of our teachers and staff is to continuously create a learning climate that ensures high levels of academic achievement based on state and national standards, as well as 21st Century skills, while ensuring positive social and emotional growth in our students with a solid system of support.

Erpenbeck Students are ENGAGED!

I invite you to walk through our hallways and into our classrooms.  You see our students engaged in hands-on learning experiences, you see students talking about their learning, students asking questions of one another, and you see students loving these experiences!  Our students are engaged in their learning each and every day in our school!

Erpenbeck Students CARE!

We are all about our MUSTANG Pride here at EES!  Our students know our school-wide PBIS expectations and they live it daily.  Our students know to “Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and to Be Safe” each and every day. We take pride in ensuring that our students develop into respectful, responsible, and caring citizens who show compassion and empathy for others.  Instilling these key lifelong values within our students is part of the mission of the staff of Erpenbeck Elementary School!

Erpenbeck Students are 21st CENTURY LEARNERS!

Our students engage in the skills of collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem solving daily.  Through daily classroom experiences, PBL opportunities, our STEAM lab, our phenomenal music and arts programming, and the numerous extra-curricular and club programs we offer our students, our students are embedded in 21st century skills daily.  We are passionate about our students reaching their highest potential and by the time they leave us as 6th graders, our students are living our school and district vision and are on track to become college, career, and life ready!

Erpenbeck Teachers and Staff are THE BEST!

Our teachers have the training, skills, and experience to capture, motivate, engage, and facilitate high levels of learning in every classroom at Erpenbeck.  Our teachers collaborate daily in order to bring the highest instructional levels to our students.  Our teachers differentiate to reach all learners and strive for excellence daily.  We follow the KCAS (Kentucky Core Academic Standards) and are constantly engaging in professional learning to ensure that we continue to be at the cutting-edge of education.  At EES, we possess the “whatever it takes” attitude when it comes to our students.  We will work tirelessly to ensure that all of our students are successful!

The teachers and staff of Erpenbeck Elementary School invite you, as parents, grandparents, friends, and community members, to join us as we communicate and collaborate together to ensure each of our students are stampeding toward success!

Sincerely,

Pat Berry

Solar Eclipse

eclipse

Important Information about the Solar Eclipse

On Monday August 21st, 2017 we will experience a total solar eclipse, an event that hasn’t occurred over the U.S. mainland since 1979.  A total solar eclipse, which is when the moon completely covers the sun, will occur across 14 states in the continental U.S. along a 70-mile-wide swath of the country.  While Boone County is not located in this area, we will still be able to view the partial solar eclipse.

This event will be an extraordinary educational opportunity for our students.  Many of our schools will have special activities or lessons planned for this day to accompany the event.  While this event is extremely exciting for our students, we must also acknowledge the importance of proper eye safety.  While it should be common sense not to stare directly at the sun with your naked eyes, this advice will be even more important during this event.  The eclipse must be viewed only through proper eclipse glasses.  Schools with planned viewing activities will require students to wear proper solar eclipse glasses.

In order to protect our students’ eyes during this event:

  • Students will not participate in any unstructured outdoor activities, including recess
  • Students will be advised to not look directly at the sun without wearing solar eclipse glasses
  • We will provide additional personnel until 4pm for parents who do not want their children riding the bus during the eclipse.Children who do not ride the bus for that reason will have to be picked up by parents at 4pm.
