Mark your calendar for GATORAMA! 

Gatorama wil be held on Tuesday, August 8th.  We will again do pick up by last name: A - F 4-5pm, G - N 5-6pm, O - Z 6-7pm.  If you can;t make your schedulded time we will have 7-7:30pm open

We also have Thursday, August 10th 11am - 1pm as an alternate schedule pick up day.  This will be a pick up only, no access to the building.

A New Student Tour for 7th & 8th graders will be held on Thursday, August 11th at 1pm.

We have an unexpected vacancy on the GMS SBDM committee for the 2017-2018 school year.  We will be holding an election during our Gatorama on August 8 from 4-7 p.m.  If you are interested in running for this, please send your bio to Paula Barkholtz at barcky4@aol.com,  Angie Deatherage at angiedeatherage@gmail.com or Lisa Black at jdlmblack@gmail.com  by Friday, July 28th.

Qualifications:  A parent council member shall be a parent, step-parent, foster parent or a legal guardian of a student who will be attending the school during the 2017-2018 school year.  A parent is ineligible if he/she is an employee or a relative of an employee of that school or the district central office, or a local school board member or the spouse of a school board member.  The term of office is 1 year.  Parents may nominate themselves or another parent (with permission).

Monday, August 7th (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) - Orientation for all incoming 6th grade students. Register Here.

Tuesday, August 8th:   Gatorama (Schedule, fees, etc.)  Times are as listed based on Last Name Alphabet Ending with:  A – F   4-5pm,  G – N   5-6pm,  O – Z   6-7:30pm             


GMS Students Interested in Ryle's Cross Country

Any middle school student interested in Ryle's cross country, see link below.  Sign up until August 25th.  You must have a sports physical before you can start.  All paperwork needed can be found at the bottom of the website.



Gray Middle School has been awarded the EPA ENERGY STAR Certification!!!
ENERGY STAR certified buildings save energy, save money, and help protect the environment by generating fewer greenhouse gas emissions than typical buildings. 
To be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification, a school building must earn an ENERGY STAR score of 75 or higher (on EPA’s 1-100 energy performance scale), indicating that it performs better than at least 75 percent of similar buildings nationwide.   In other words, these schools perform in the top 25 percent of similar buildings nationwide!   An ENERGY STAR certified building is also verified by a licensed Professional Engineer. 

School buildings that earn EPA’s ENERGY STAR certification use an average of 35 percent less energy than typical buildings and also release 35 percent less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

FRYSC DONATIONS Family Resource Center


Did you know that 32% of children in Boone County Schools are considered to be living in poverty, and that 1% of those children are homeless?  You can help provide these children with basic items like clothing, personal hygiene items, food, and cleaning supplies by donating to the Boone County Schools’ FRYSC at Gray Middle School.   Family Resource & Youth Services Center 

Items requested for May:  Hand soap, kids socks, and sweatpants.

School Tryout Reminders!

Tryouts require you to bring an Athletic Consent-Insurance Form and have a current Sport Physical Form on file at GMS.  These forms are a must to be eligible for tryouts.


GMS Spirit Days!
Students you can wear sweat pants on spirit days provided you wear a Gray, Ryle, or Cooper shirt OR you wear a blue, orange, or gray shirt with the sweat pants.
