CEMS will be celebrating International Day of Happiness on March 20th. We will have Walls of Happiness in our building, we will all be receiving a gift from the PTSO and just try to help one another have a great day by spreading cheer and kindness. Don’t forget to order your “CEMS CELEBRATES HAPPINESS” t-shirts, there is a information for the sale on our facebook page, a parent email has been sent out as well as a remind. In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd, the library is having a bookmark contest. Stop by the library to get a form, then design your best Dr. Seuss related bookmark. Turn it in by Friday, February 23rd. The winners get a READ poster, their bookmarks in the library, and a special Dr. Seuss prize.
The Scholastic book fair starts Monday February 26th and runs through Friday, March 2nd. However, before the fair starts you have a chance to raise money for your teacher’s classroom library, get books for kids in need, and maybe win a donut party for your Blazer class. Starting Monday, there will be a container in your blazer class to deposit spare change. Your teacher can use that change to buy books for their classroom. Scholastic will match the total amount raised with a donation to several charities that provide books for kids in need. And, the blazer class that raises the most from each team (including the UA team) will win a donut party.
Mrs.Vickers mentoring class, as part of the passion project, is holding an event to raise money for lucky tales and paw prints rescue. This event will be on March 19th 6:30 to 8. This event will be here at cems middle school in the multi purpose room. The cost is $3.oo to get in There will be food and drinks as well as games, Pictures with the animals, silent auction baskets, and so much more!
Stand Up for a Pup Club
The club will be about teaching people how to handle/treat animals and how to raise money to make animals lives better.

“Mardi-Gras Masquerade” semi-formal dance is Feb 24th 7:00-9:30 in the cafeteria at CEMS. Cost is $10 presale and $15 at the door. Money and RSVP are due by Feb 17th. Dress code is Sunday best to Semi-formal, no denim please. Concessions will be served all evening and pictures will be available for $5
Students MUST attend CEMS! We have flyers in the main office.
Students from Ms.Vicker’s class will be collecting new or gently used clothing and non-perishable food items for a service-learning project. There are boxes located by the library for the donations. The items donated will be given to food pantries and other organizations. Last day to donate is Feb 26th.
Parents: Please be mindful that if you are dropping your student off late we must have either an adult signature or a doctor note for you student to be excused. Also, we need doctor notes or parent notes turned into the office when your child is absent. You are allowed ten (10) parent notes per school year and after that they must be doctor notes to be excused. After three unexcused tardies lunch detentions will be assigned.
