CEMS 2016-2017 PTSO OFFICERS

President: Becky Quigley

September 20, 2017

Becky Quigley, President, Camp Ernst Middle School

I want to begin by saying thank you for the opportunity to have served as your PTSO President last year and I am very excited to serve again for the 2017-2018 school year.    It is truly an honor to serve as your President.  Also, I am blessed with having the incredible support of the entire CEMS PTSO Board, Teachers, Staff and the Parents.

I am a CIPL Fellow, class of 2011(Commonwealth Institute of Parent Leadership).  Since becoming a CIPL fellow I have been given the opportunity to visit Frankfort and sit in on the Education committee meetings, talk with some of our senators, been asked to sit on Boone County District groups and attend PTA advocacy training.

Professionally, I have a Master’s of Education from the University of Cincinnati, Bachelors of Arts in Athletic Training and Associate’s Degrees in Exercise Physiology, Biology and Business from Thomas More College.  I am also a Board Certified Athletic Trainer, ATC.

After graduation, I was able to work as a Certified Athletic Trainer during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.  Upon return, I began working as a Certified Athletic Trainer for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine in their Sports Medicine Clinic as well as out in the field with local athletic teams for 7 years.  I then went back to work with my family at Will-Son Distributing Company.  My husband, brother and I currently run the day to day operations of our family business.

Personally, I am originally from Reading, Ohio.  I moved to Boone County my freshman year of college.   I have 4 children, Lauren, Alex, Ava and Will. Lauren is a Junior at Notre Dame Academy, Alex is a Sophomore at Notre Dame Academy,  Ava is Freshman at Notre Dame Academy and  Will is a 8th grader here at Camp Ernst Middle School.  I am married to TJ Quigley and we reside in Florence.

In the community,   I served as the PTA President of Longbranch Elementary, Co-Chair for a Ladies Night Out event at Longbranch, serve on the Kentucky Kids’ Voting Board, serve as a Girl Scout leader for my daughter Alex’s troop, volunteer with Go Pantry, serve on several committees at NDA as well as help with various other activities throughout the community.  I have always been active with my children and in the community and truly enjoy volunteering here at Camp Ernst Middle School.

Sincerely,

Becky Quigley

Secretary: Julie Bond

Hi my name is Julie Bond, CEMS PTSO Secretary.  I have lived in Burlington for 17 years with my husband Kevin and out three children, Samantha, Cooper and Brady.  Samantha and Cooper both attend CEMS and Brady is on the 5th grade at Burlington Elementary.  When not playing taxi driver for the kids activities we enjoy camping, hiking and watching movies.

I have worked in Florence, KY for the past 22 years at Citi Cards, however has the benefit of working remote.  I'm currently a Vice President responsible for the strategic development and regulatory governance for the Citi Credit Card Business.

Dances: Jill Jennings

My name is Jill Jennings. I moved to Burlington from High Point, North Carolina almost 8 years ago with my husband, Matt, and our three children.  Zac and Delaney are our twins and are Sophomores at Cooper High School.  Jacob is an eighth grader here at Camp Ernst Middle School. Our children keep us very busy with basketball, baseball, and any number of extra-curricular activities.  We enjoy going to Xavier University basketball games where Matt works in the Athletic Department.

I grew up in North Carolina.  I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1995, with a degree in Communications.  I then attended Appalachian State University where I received a Master's Degree in Communication Disorders.

My husband's job has moved the family around quite a bit.  We have made eight moves together.  When I was not staying at home with my children, I have worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in various positions, particularly with school systems.  Currently I work at New Haven Elementary School and have worked as a Speech Therapist for Boone County Schools for three years.

I have thoroughly enjoyed serving on the CEMS PTSO Board.  This is my sixth year on the board, serving initially as Membership Chair and currently as Co-Chair of Dances. It has allowed me to meet a wonderful group of parents, teachers, and an administration who care a great deal for the well-being of the school and its students!

 Dances: Christy Staten

Hi!  My name is Christy Staten and I am co-chair of Dances.

My husband, Paul, and I moved from Chicago to Burlington, KY about 12 years ago. We are thrilled to be back in Kentucky closer to our family in Eastern Kentucky. We have one son, Ethan, who is a 7th grader. Despite only having one child, he keeps us on our toes with athletics, extracurricular activities and his youth group at the Vineyard Christian Church.

I graduated from Morehead State University with a degree is Hotel / Restaurant Management. I have worked for Marriott International in various capacities over the past 19 years, most currently as an area sales executive.

I look forward to my first position on the board. It’s going to be wonderful meeting other Camp Ernst parents and I’m so excited to plan some great events for our kids so they can make memories that last a lifetime!

S. WilsonVolunteers/Social Media: Sarah Wilson

Hi, my name is Sarah Wilson. I'm the mom of my only child, Morgan who just entered sixth grade. In addition to that I'm planning a wedding and a move within six months. I love change! I'm new to CEMS, but excited to be serving on the board as Volunteer Coordinator and Social Media Moderator. In the past six years I've served on the Burlington Elementary Board in various positions. I really love being able to meet the staff and kids!

I have lived in Burlington since 2005, but I grew up in Alexandria, KY and went to Bishop Brossard High school, where my baby brother still attends. Go Mustangs! I've worked part time at Citi for around 13 years in many different roles, but my current role is a net brand promoter. If you don't like something, I'll fix it for you. I spend most of my free time trying to talk my family into trying new things outdoors, but my favorites are kayaking and hiking.
