BCEA Food Drive for GO Pantry! gopantry

BCEA (Boone County Education Association) is coordinating a county-wide food drive with all 24 Boone County Schools. 

The BCEA drive will be SEPT 11-15th.

Camp Ernst will be collecting Fruit Cups and Applesauce.

Students can bring in their donations and put in the bins in the office/lobby.

Archery Team Parent Meeting archery

There is a mandatory parent meeting September 14th.  There will be two sessions 5-6 pm and 6-7 pm in the cafeteria at CEMS.  If your child wishes to be in Archery, a parent must be present at this meeting.  There will be a sign in sheet.

Solar Eclipse


Important Information about the Solar Eclipse

On Monday August 21st, 2017 we will experience a total solar eclipse, an event that hasn’t occurred over the U.S. mainland since 1979.  A total solar eclipse, which is when the moon completely covers the sun, will occur across 14 states in the continental U.S. along a 70-mile-wide swath of the country.  While Boone County is not located in this area, we will still be able to view the partial solar eclipse.

This event will be an extraordinary educational opportunity for our students.  Many of our schools will have special activities or lessons planned for this day to accompany the event.  While this event is extremely exciting for our students, we must also acknowledge the importance of proper eye safety.  While it should be common sense not to stare directly at the sun with your naked eyes, this advice will be even more important during this event.  The eclipse must be viewed only through proper eclipse glasses.  Schools with planned viewing activities will require students to wear proper solar eclipse glasses.

In order to protect our students’ eyes during this event:

  • Students will not participate in any unstructured outdoor activities, including recess
  • Students will be advised to not look directly at the sun without wearing solar eclipse glasses
  • We will provide additional personnel until 4pm for parents who do not want their children riding the bus during the eclipse.Children who do not ride the bus for that reason will have to be picked up by parents at 4pm.

Lady Rebels Soccer Team is Looking for Players! BCHS Lady Rebels Soccer

The Lady Rebels girls’ soccer team is looking for players for this fall.  Tryouts will take place beginning July 17th @ the Pee Wee Football Complex in Florence.  For more information or to signup, please click to visit our website or signup using our form.  Additional information can be obtained by emailing Coach Hughes.  We can work around club team schedules for freshman and junior varsity teams.

Need a FREE Sports Physical for the 2017-2018 School Year? sports physicals

For student athletes who cannot schedule a sports physical with their primary care physician, The Orthopedic Institues at St. Elizabeth will provide Sports Physicals for your athletes at no charge on two dates at the Edgewood office located at 560 South Loop Rd. in Edgewood on Saturday, June 3rd and Saturday, September 30th from 9 AM to 1 PM.  All athletes need to bring a completed KHSAA sport physical form signed by a parent. 

Volunteers and Supplies Needed for Last Day of School volunteers needed

Boone County Schools are CLOSED

Boone County Schools are CLOSED for WEDNESDAY MARCH 1st. There will be no Elementary School bus pick up. Students already at school will stay until it is safe to release them. Parents may pick up students from their schools. High School driving students will be released when their principals deem it's safe to release them.

Your student has three personalized learning options to choose from for the 2017-2018 school year.

Description:  Students can choose to stay on pace with the teacher during lecture or move at their own pace.

Saving Lives One Arrow at a Time Archery St. Jude

If you are interested in taking the high school credit class Digital Literacy next year with Mrs. Franks, you must take the required typing test and need a typing score of at least 25 words per minute.  If you would like to qualify for the class, go to Mrs. Franks' computer lab located in room 801 during your lunch/recess time next week.  The entrance test will only be available Monday through Friday April 24th through the 28th.

Camp is for current (2016-17) 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Burlington, Kelly, Longbranch and Stephens.  Students will be learning NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) Safety and the 11 Steps to Archery Success.  Spaces are limited, so be sure to “Save Your Spot”.
