Email is checked numerous times each day, until 9:00 each evening. Students may email me, if it about a school assignment/matter. You may also call the school at 384-5333, if you wish to leave a voice mail. My phone extension is #75107.

I have been teaching in Boone County Schools since 2004 and I am thrilled to teach in the neighborhood and Disctrict, where I live. I have been teaching sixth and eighth grade since I first came to Gray in 2004, alternating every three to five years, to meet the needs of the students populations. I am thrilled to be able to remain to the sixth grade! Some of my students have actually waited in my driveway for their bus each morning! My wife attended Boone County Schools several years ago. Both of my daughters have been students here, too. My sister even teaches here. We now have nine teachers in our extended family. I am very involved in school committees, the procedures in our school environment, and the student extra-curricular activities. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education/English and Social Studies. I have my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology (K-12), my Rank I Degree in Reading, Writing, and Literacy (K-12), and have recently completed my National Boards Certification, English Language Arts, in Early Adolescence (ages 11-15).

Personally, I have been married for nearly thirty years and have two daughters. I got married at Union Baptist Church- right down the street. My hobbies include paying guitar, raising birds and fish, martial arts, reading, and muscle cars. I currently drive a 1967 GTO. It's a great car to cruise around the neighborhood in and I belong to two fish clubs and one car club.

Please feel free to contact me through school email (mark.johnson@boone.kyschools.us) for any questions or concerns. E-mail is my first line of contact and is checked numerous times each day, until 9:00 each night. Students and parents, the agenda is the number one form of communication for what goes on in the classroom. We use Google Classroom in Boone County and many of your children are already familiar with this. We will work on implementing this, throughout the year. This will be shown to my students, in class. My telephone extension nunmber is:75107. Gray's phone number is 859-384-5333. Again, e-mail is a faster form of communication.

STUDENTS!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION; IT MUST BE, BECAUSE I AM USING ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! If you are in my language arts class, you need two composition books. These are not on the 6th grade supply list, because they are only for my room. We will use one for Literature Circles and one for Writing Circles. you will also need two packs of 3x5, lined index cards. We use these almost every day for Bell ringers. I will collect these and store them in the classroom for your use. Let's make new friends, spread some kindess, and have a great year!
