A Little About Myself:
I am from Cincinnati Ohio and went to Bowling Green State University for my undergraduate and graduate studies. I earned a masters in special education working specifically with students who have moderate to severe disabilities and learning needs. After college I moved to Stanford Kentucky and taught two years in an elementary school, grades 3-5. After two year so far from home I have moved back and am excited to be working in Boone County! I love to read, write, hike, camp, and swim!
What You Can Expect:
I am a very academic oriented teacher, I believe that all children, despite their disability, should have meaningful access to the core curriculum.
This year I am VERY excited to be implementing the Unique Learning Curriculum. It is a specially designed curriculum for students with severe leaning needs that connects each lesson to the core content and includes a variety of fun, hands on learning experiences. The curriculum allows for participation on three different levels so that all children, despite ability levels, can access the materials. The curriculum also allows for benchmarking students, which will give everyone an idea of what level each child is performing at throughout the school year. I am very excited to be implementing this curriculum in my classroom.
In closing I just want to say how thrilled I am to be apart of Boone County schools and each one of my students' lives. We are going to have a fun year full of great learning experiences! If you every have any questions or concerns please contact me via email, note, or phone call and I'd be more than willing to talk to you!
See you soon!
