Welcome Yealey Families and Guests,
I am very excited to be the principal at Yealey Elementary. I have been an educator in Boone County Schools since 1997 and am a graduate of Boone County High School before that. After high school, I went on to Northern Kentucky University where I earned my Bachelor's degree and then in 2000 my Master's degree. I earned an additional Master's Degree in Special Education from Georgetown College in 2007. I have three children; 2 teenage boys, and an 11 year old girl. My oldest son will attend Northern Kentucky University in the fall to study education. My younger son attends high school where my husband is a teacher and head football coach. My daughter is a 7th grader who loves basketball and her dog! My family loves to spend time together at football games, basketball games, camping, and doing our family hobby - letterboxing.
Yealey is a school with a long tradition of excellence in education and I am very excited to help the current students carry on this legacy. Yealey Elementary began it's journey in 1963 and has served the Florence community for over 50 years. It is named after A. M. Yealey, an educator who was principal in Florence for 29 years and who in 1911 established the first high school in Florence that was recognized by colleges. We work hard to carry on this attitude of creativity by offereing our students an education focused on the 4 C's; Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking. I welcome you to explore our website and visit our school - family and school partnership is critical to the growth of our children.
