Hello, and welcome to the wonderful world of 4th grade! I'm super excited to have you as part of my class! With your help, I hope to make this one of the best years your child has while here at Collins Elementary. When students enter my class, they become learners, explorers, communicators, and leaders. As a group, we work hard, support each other, and become a family so that in the end everyone is successful. We push through the tough times and never give up, and we find out that we can do anything and acheive our dreams through a little hard work, because WE ARE COMETS AND WE SOAR TO SUCCESS!! Together we are going to work hard, expand our learning, and take many amazing journeys that will create some fabulous memories, so get ready to be amazed!
I would like to give you a little background information about myself and my education. I was born and raised in Covington, KY, and this is where I still reside. I have two Associate's Degrees from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. After working as a Flavoring Analyist for several years, I realized I was ready to take my career in another direction. I attended Northern Kentucky University to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and graduated in 2013. My first job was Reading Interventionist for Covington Independent Public Schools. Soon after I was moved into a 4th/5th grade teaching position where I taught science to our students through a rotating schedule. I transferred to Boone County Public Schools in July of 2015. This will be my second year as a 4th grade Collins Elementary Teacher, and I couldn't be any happier!
I have provided several pages on my website that I hope you will find useful throughout the year. I will do my best to keep them updated so you have access to the latest school and classroom news. I want communication to be as open as possible, so if you ever have any questions/comments/concerns, please contact me at anytime. I am pretty quick to respond and will work hard to make sure our year together is a great experience.
