Hola! My name is Vonnie Campbell and I am TES’ Spanish instructional para educator for Kindergarten to 2nd grade. While 3rd through 5th will supplement their Spanish learning using Rosetta Stone on their chromebooks, I will be the "Rosetta Stone" for K-2. We will have fun hearing stories, playing games and singing songs in Spanish to reinforce what Sra. Sankovitch will be teaching them during Spanish class.

My excitement in teaching your children comes in part from my own experience. I spent most of my growing up years in Ecuador and Chile. I learned so much from the Latin people. Their language and culture are beautiful. It was a life experience I will never regret. Though I don’t have a drop of Latin blood flowing through my veins, my heart is at least half Latin American!

Having world language in the school is such a wonderful gift. In our ever-shrinking world, our kids only benefit from knowing how to appreciate and interact with other cultures and to speak another language. And what a great age to start! Imagine what opportunities for your children open up when they can speak, in this case, Spanish. Maybe they just want the pleasure of travel. Or maybe they want to be an American ambassador to Venezuela or Spain! Perhaps, they just want to be fabulous business owners who can interact with their Spanish-speaking customers. The possibilities are huge!

Hopefully your children will come home excited to teach you what they have learned at school. But if not, please don’t worry. It can take some time to get used to even hearing a foreign language much less speak it!To the left are the links to videos of songs, lessons and other things we did in class last year. I will add videos or other important things we do this year so that way your children can keep practicing and share with you what they’ve learned.
