Dear Longbranch Families:
On behalf of our instructional staff, welcome and thank you for being a part of our community of energetic, inquisitive, creative, collaborative thinkers and scholars. Our school is filled with laughter and learning from start to finish each day. Our goal is to make school the “best place on Earth” for all 855 of our Longhorns and their families.
Since our inception six years ago, our school has received numerous accolades including two Golden Apple recipients, two Kentucky PTA Classified Staff Members of the Year, three Kentucky PTA Certified Educators of the Year, two Kentucky PTA Volunteer of the Year, PTA Best Mens' Group in the state of Kentucky, Best PTA Membership Drive in the state of Kentucky, two Rotary Teacher of the Year awards, three B.E.S.T. Partnership awards, Silver Level School Health Awards, KASA School Administrator of the Year in 2014, a Kentucky Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2015, a National Counselor of the Year Finalist in 2015, the Kentucky Counselor of the Year in 2015, and two Northern Kentucky Health Department School of Excellence Awards. We are a recognized Energy Star School and we are a member of the Alliance for a Healthy Generation Healthy Schools Initiative.
We are proud to be a Leader in Me school. This means we follow a leadership school transformation model in which our students learn and practice the 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey, form their own leadership teams, and are empowered to lead themselves and their peers. We believe there are leadership qualities in each child. We believe each child can become a leader of his or her life. It is of utmost joy to see each child in our building learn to lead from within. We are confident that our students will be more successful adults by participating in this leadership model.
The mission of Longbranch Elementary is to prepare our students to achieve beyond expectation, lead with great character, and positively impact our community. Please join us on this journey.
Congratulations to Kim Delaney, a finalist in the Kentucky Teacher of the Year competition. We're so happy for Mrs. Delaney and can't wait to attend the ceremony with Governor Bevin at the Capitol on October 19th!
We're looking for your stories of the 7 Habits and TLIM being carried over into your kids' lives outside of school. Please share your stories here: https://goo.gl/forms/pCi2Z0NrT6KMh9Cu2
