Veteran's Day

Invitations for our annual Veteran’s Day Program went home this week. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 11, and we will follow the same schedule as we have in the past.  Veteran’s will arrive by 9:30 am.  We will go out to the flag and say the pledge, then we will go to the gym and start the ceremony at about 10:00.  The ceremony will last for about 30 minutes then the Veterans will go to the multi-purpose room for lunch.

If you can volunteer to help with this event that would be great!  Heather Dern will need help with check-in, and lunch.  If you can bring in veggies, side dishes, and/or a dessert that would be great as well.  Please contact Mrs Dern at heather.dern@boone.kyschools.us if you can volunteer or bring a dish.

Help One of Our Own

One of the most amazing features of NHE is the atmosphere of “family”. No faculty member exhibits the attitude of family more than our beloved Heather Jones. This past summer Mrs. Jones’ sister, Quinn, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer which was found to have spread to her bones and large intestine. As you can imagine the medical expenses have been overwhelming.

To help offset these expenses our New Haven family is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner/Trivia Night on Friday, November 7th at St Tim’s Catholic Church. Dinner is from 6-7 pm, trivia 7-8pm. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. You will need to create a team for the trivia portion if you choose to participate. Teams can be any size (within reason). Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trivia teams! There will also be a split the pot. Please make plans to attend as well as spread the word! Thank you in advance for your support, love and encouragement!

Visitor Check In Change

New Haven is continually working to ensure that our school is both safe and welcoming. This year we implemented a new check in process that helps keep an accurate record of all visitors to our school. Starting Monday, visitors will also be asked to show a photo id upon check in so that school officials can verify that you are who you say you are. We hope you will all agree that any minor inconvenience is worth our students’ SAFETY!! Thank you and we appreciate your support!
