Attention Cougarettes

Please report to room 105 immediately after school today for our first official meeting. If you cannot attend, please see Ms. Badida after school on Tuesday or Wednesday to pick up the important information that you missed.

FFA Members

FFA Members:
Stop by Ms. Gripshover's room to get beef jerky to sell. We will be meeting after school Tuesday- Thursday to work on the homecoming float. Bring supplies and ideas.

National Honor Society members, the information to sign up for Remind 101 is posted in room 107, get signed-up so you don't miss important information.

Asian Culture Club

Don't worry if you can't make it to the Asian Culture Club field trip on Saturday, we will meet after school on Monday, October 5th from 2:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m. Come to our activity and see what the Asian Culture Club is all about!

CHS Homecoming Spirit Week

Cougars!  Show your spirit during Homecoming week!  Below is a list of themes for each day beginning Monday, October 5th:

Monday:        College Day

Tuesday:       Jersey Day

Wednesday:  Decade Day (9th - 50's, 10th - 60's, 11th - 70's, 12th - 80's

Thursday:     9th - White, 10th - Red, 11th - Blue, 12th - Red, White & Blue

All attire MUST still be within dress code and should be school appropriate.

Will Foulks Receives Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame Scholarship

Congratulations to Will Foulks for receiving a $500 scholarship from the Kentucky Veterans this past weekend in Frankfort.   Will won the scholarship by writing an essay about his grandfather, who is a veteran.

Scholarship Opportunity

The Boone County Education Association and College and Beyond are offering a tuition-paid scholarship for College and Beyond’s ACT Prep Class, a value of $399.00. To qualify, students must complete an application and submit a Letter of Recommendation by October 5th at 12 p.m. If interested, see Guidance.

FFA Members

Attention FFA Members going to National Convention:  there will be a MANDATORY meeting October 5th immediately after school.  

Archery Meeting

Archery Meeting for parents & archers on Monday, October 5th in the Auditorium.  We will begin collecting forms and tournament fees at 6:00 p.m. with the meeting beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m.  Questions see Mrs. Petersime in Room 109 Mr. Snow in Room 115.

CHS Blood Drive with Hoxworth

CHS will host a blood drive with Hoxworth on Thursday, October 15th from 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. in the Large Gym.  You may sign up during lunch between Monday and Thursday, October 5th - 8th.  You must be 16 prior to October 15th to partcipate.  See Mrs. Sargent if you have questions.

Picture Retake/Club Picture Day

Picture retake and club picture day will be held on Friday, October 30th during 1st and 2nd Blocks in the Small Gym.

Attention Juniors

Juniors interested in learning more about the Governor's Scholars Program can sign up in Guidance to attend an information session in room 116 on October 7th at 10 a.m. -- you must sign up in advance to attend.

October College Visits:
Marines Visit- Thursday, October 1st Transylvania University-Tuesday, October 6th Morehead State University-Monday, October 19th Brescia University-Friday, October 23rd Gateway CTC- Tuesday, October 27th Hanover College-Thursday, October 29th

All college visits are open to Juniors and Seniors and are held from 10:15 a.m.- 10:55 a.m. in room 116, unless otherwise noted. Sign-ups must be in advance, to sign up, see Ms. Aylor in Guidance

High School Students we Need Your Help

We are looking for volunteers to help students at Burlington Elementary with their homework! As a volunteer, you will help them with math, reading, spelling, social studies, science--whatever homework they might have that day. Microsoft Student Advantage Program

As part of our district licensing agreement, Microsoft has announced the Microsoft Student Advantage Program.  This program allows students in our district to install Office products on up to 5 devices – FREE.  Information on how students can download this free software is available here and it is linked off the Technology Department page of the district website.

Conner High School recycles ink and laser toner cartridges, cell phones, iPods/mp3 players, laptops, digital cameras, and gps devices. Unfortunately we cannot accept copy machine cartridges at this time. Contact Debbie Slusher if you have empty cartridges to donate.
