I was born in Altus, Oklahoma. My father was in the military and we moved around quite a bit. Throughout my childhood, I lived in Oklahoma, Illinois, Maryland, Belgium, and finally Kentucky. I moved to Kentucky in 1999 and graduated from Ryle High School. After high school, I had the opportunity to attend the University of Wyoming, the University of Kentucky, and Northern Kentucky University. At the University of Kentucky, I earned a degree in Accounting and then went on to Northern Kentucky University to earn a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating from Northern Kentucky University in 2008, I moved to Japan for a year to teach English in a private pre-school and in an afterschool program to children of all ages.
This will be my eighth year teaching at Collins Elementary. I have taught 3rd and 5th grade and I am currently the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) teacher at Collins. This is my third year teaching STEAM and I am looking forward to another exciting year with all of the students.
