Status Change Notice For In-person Learning
Students and Parents,
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Boone County Area Technology Center on behalf of the entire staff. We are pleased you have chosen our school to further your education and look forward to being your partner in education this year.
It is our school’s intention to provide you a safe environment where you can learn and grow in your chosen career. As you are aware, a "safe environment" at the beginning of this school year means you will be learning from home. When we do return to school for in-person instruction, you can rest assured that it will also be a very safe environment as everyone on the staff here has received training on cleaning and disinfecting techniques specifically to reduce exposure to COVID-19. We are also following guidelines established by the CDC and recommendations from the Northern Kentucky Health Department.
Our professional staff is committed to providing you with quality instruction and a variety of learning experiences to assist you in reaching your career and educational goals. I can't lie, teaching a skilled-trade is not easy to do in person, so virtual teaching is going to present us with some unique challenges and unique opportunities to explore and expand our teaching strategies. Our instructors are passionate about their industry professions and dedicated to training you - the next generation of skilled-trades professionals! Our instructors have come up with some pretty creative ways to offer some "hands-on" activities while you're learning from home - just be patient as we are all exploring uncharted territory. Likewise, your attitude, attendance (virtual and in-person), desire, and cooperation are also key components to reaching your goals. Working together, we can prepare you for the workforce or for continuing your educational opportunities.
We wish you the best for the school year and success in your training with us.
Laura M Williams, Principal
