Bus Routes Mock Run buses

Boone County Schools is helping to prepare parents, students, and the community-at-large with a dry run of the BC school bus routes! The "rehearsal" or mock run will happen on Monday, August 13. All buses will be driving the exact routes. This will give our transportation department an opportunity to correct/tweak things prior to the first day of school on Wednesday, August 15.

It's time to Stuff the Bus!!! Bring three or more items to any Northern Kentucky Chick-fil-A on July 31st and receive a chicken free sandwich! Notebooks/Composition notebooks, kids socks, packs of pencils, packs of markers and glue sticks are needed most. Our primary collection spot will be the Chick-fil-A on Houston Road, but you can drop off supplies for Boone County Schools at any location. Just let them know when you drop off your items.

LinkingTogether: Youth Mental Health Summit classroom

Please join us for this two-day event, Friday, June 22 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, and Saturday, June 23, from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Both days will include lunch, a keynote speaker, and various workshops and seminars, led by national, state and local experts in the areas of youth mental health.

Session topics will include Youth Mental Health First Aider training, Trauma Informed Care, Social Emotional Learning, Drug Free Clubs of America, Bullying, Resiliency, Mindfulness and many more.

The goals of the Summit are to increase mental health literacy, to reduce the stigma associated with mental health disorders in our community and to strengthen community response to youth development through awareness, knowledge, connectivity and access.

Boone County Schools will partner with the Lexington Children’s Theater to create a “Magical Journey.” Students will use their imagination and creativity to express themselves with grace and beauty through multiple artistic disciplines.  Working with Peer Tutors, Boone County Teachers and Para Educators, and the Shooting Stars Youth Theatre, students will showcase their individuality with a performance for family and friends on Saturday.

The World Maker & Inventor Expo is a celebration of making, inventing, problem solving and innovation with robotics, 3D printing, drones, aerospace, coding, micro-computing, CSI, Arduino, graphic design, engineering and much more. The family-friendly expo will feature projects and programs from over 100 schools, universities, companies, and organizations in the greater Cincinnati-northern Kentucky regions. Enjoy workshops and competitions, including drone relays, 3D design, outlaw derby races, as well as delicious pies, fries, kabobs, sandwiches, waffles and shaved ice from area food trucks!

International Festival - Date Change International Fest

The Boone County Schools International Festival has been postponed and is now coming up on May 5th.  It is being held at Mann Elementary from 11:00am until 3:00pm.  Addmission is free and there will be plenty of activities for the entire family!

District Summer Course Offerings books

District Summer Credit Information 2018

District Summer Credit offerings are through a blended learning model of in-person and virtual curriculum offerings.

Your student’s home high school may also offer summer credit courses.  Those registrations are handled directly by the home high school, and not through this registration link.  The District Summer Credit Program is offered as an additional option for students and families.

All of the curriculum can be completed entirely through a virtual platform.  There will be no requirement for students to meet with their assigned teacher.  Teachers will have office hours and locations available for student assistance as needed.

District Summer Credit programs will be offered in one session:  June 11-July 6, 2018

Initial meeting date for the session will be May 30 at 6:00PM at Boone County HS

Boone County Schools Statement on Copy-Cat Threats logo

Boone County Schools is one of many school districts across the country that is being subjected to copy- cat threats of the school tragedy in Florida.  We are working with local authorities as they investigate a recent rash of rumors and threats on our campuses.  Student suspects in each of the cases were immediately identified and apprehended.  They were charged by local authorities and disciplined by their schools.   In each case a thorough investigation was conducted by the school district and authorities.  No student or staff member was ever in danger. Confidentiality laws prevent Boone County Schools from talking about the persons involved or the specifics of the incidents. Boone County Schools will continue to remain on alert, following our safety protocols and working with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and Florence Police as future issues arise.

Drug Free Club of America Information

When will students in the club be drug tested? The Drug Free Club of America's drug testing company will be coming to Conner High School on Monday, October 23rd to conduct the first initial drug testing for all students who have signed up for the club, paid the $35.00 membership fee, and turned in a completed brochure with parent/student signatures. That being said, any student who wishes to sign up for the club and be included in the first drug screen to receive a free t-shirt, goodie bag, and photo id membership card MUST do so by this Friday, October 20th.

***Last day to collect money for the first initial test is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20th. How can students who wish to sign up for the club get the $35.00 and signed brochure to me?

Students must ask their teacher for permission to leave class and bring money to the classroom. They will use their hall pass with teacher permission. Student must knock on door, turn money in to me without disruption of class. On Thursday, October 19th, students may also come to Room 124 during club time to drop off the money. We will not be meeting as a club that day, but it also gives students another opportunity to turn in the money.

Bus Changes School Bus

Bus 192 will be held today. Bus 220 will return to get the students. They will be running about 20 minutes late getting home. Effective Wednesday, October 18th the students that ride Bus 192 will be riding Bus 363 home. Bus 337 will also be held today. Bus 248 will return to get the students. They will be running about 10-15 minutes late getting home.

On October 19th and 21st (Thursday and Saturday), the Conner HS Choirs will be headed BACK TO THE EIGHTIES! Our Fall Pops concert will contain hits by Journey, Michael Jackson, Kenny Loggins, the B-52's, Cyndi Lauper, Bruce Springsteen, and many others! Costumes and crazy hair are highly encouraged and supported.

Homework Assistance

Need homework help? Do you need assistance understanding what is going on? Come to tutoring every Thursday after school in Room 117. You can get assistance in classes from Integrated Science to AP Stats.

GSP Application Help GSP

There will be a GSP Workshop on Tuesday, October 17th is designed to help those who are serious about the GSP process. Our conversations will center around the following:

1. How to get the most out of your entries on the application.

2. How to choose a focus area that may able you to get into GSP.

3. We will also discuss things you can control in the scoring process and things you can’t control.

In addition, there will be model applications for you to utilize as a starting point for your own individualized entries in the extra-curricular, service, and honors and awards sections. We hope to see you there from 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17th in Room 215.

Men's Soccer Game

Come support our Men's Soccer team tonight as they take on Cooper at 7:30 p.m. in the District Tournament! The game will be held at Ryle High School. Wear blue to support the boys as they strive to beat Cooper to advance to the district final!

FFA Dues

Ms. Degaro will be collecting money outside the Cafeteria on Wednesday, October 11th during third block. Cost to join the club is $35.00 and students must have parent consent by turning in a filled out brochure with signatures. Students can still sign up for the club ALL YEAR long! Watch Conner vs. Ryle Saturday on Star 64 Star 64

Support our football players as they take on Ryle on Saturday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m.  The game will be held at Ryle and is a "Pink Out".  The game will be broadcast live on Star 64.  The first 125 students in each student section will receive a free pink Pipe Wrench game t-shirt. Each team will be giving a $500 check to someone or a foundation of their choice. The checks will be presented to each team after the game. The winning team will also be presented a plaque after the game. We would love to see as much pink support as possible!

Gatton Academy Information Session

Attention: 9th/10th Graders - There will be an information session for Students and Parents interested in learning more about the Gatton Academy at WKU on Wednesday, October 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Zack Ryle, Assistant Director of Admissions, will present information about the program and the application process.

Drug Free Club of America Membership

Ms. Degaro will be setting up a table outside of the Cafeteria during lunch to collect money/brochures for the Drug Free Club of America Thursday and Friday of this week. Students may also stop by to get information and a brochure to take home. Membership cost is $35.00 and students do need parent consent to join the club!

Do you enjoy arguing with your friends and relatives about different topics? Do you think your always right? Then Debate Club might be for you. Come after school on Thursday to Room 201 and see what Debate Club is all about. It's arguably the best club.

Girls Basketball Conditioning Basketball

Girls Basketball will have conditioning on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Freshman will be from 5:00 - 6:30 and JV/Varsity will be from 5:30 - 7:30.

Fall Blood Drive

The fall Blood Drive will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 12th. Students wishing to donate MUST register with Ms. Sargent in the Cafe during lunch. Students must be at 16 years or older to donate and have a permission form completed.

2017 Homecoming Court Homecoming

Congratulations to the 2017 Homecoming Court:

The fourth runners up were Lindsay Goldsberry and Tanner Craddock.  The third runners up were Emilee Carr and Connor Kell.  The second runners up were Mykell Marshall and Jeremy Lyle. The first runners up were Meagan Ravenscraft and Dakota Devlin.  The 2017 Homecoming Queen was McKenzie Weber the King was Michael Strucke.  Congratulations to everyone.

In the parade Girls Basketball placed 1st for their Float and Archery 2nd.  Musical Theatre placed 1st for their banner and Choir 2nd.  Thank you Mrs. Franxman and CHS faculty and staff for all your hard work and dedication.

The Academic Team will not meet for practice this Friday, September 29th. However, anyone wanting to help prepare for the Homecoming parade is welcome to stay after school.

Overture Awards Writing

Are you a writer? Have you written any exceptional fiction, creative non-fiction, or poetry? Have you written a play? A screenplay? Would you like to win the $4,000 cash prize? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, please bring your best writing to Ms. Covert in Room 210 by Friday, October 13th. A committee will then choose two writing pieces from all of the submissions to send to the Overture Awards, a competition open to all Cincinnati-area high school students. Three finalists will receive a $1,000 prize, and the winner of the creative writing category will receive the $4,000 prize. This is a stellar opportunity.

Governor's Scholar Program for Juniors

Attention Juniors: There will be an informational session for those students interested in applying for the Governor's Scholars Program on Monday, October 2nd at 130 p.m. in Room 120. If interested, sign up in the Counselors Office.

There will be a new club offered at CHS starting Tuesday, October 2nd. Students interested in information regarding The Drug Free Club of America, sponsored by Molly Degaro, can come to Room 124 on club day (10/2/17). Benefits of joining the club include opportunities for scholarship money, a good resume builder, rewards/incentives, etc. DRUG FREE is the WAY TO BE!

Congratulations Marching Band

The Marching Cougars competed at the Taylor High School Marching Competition on Saturday, Sept. 23rd where they received Best Percussion and Second place in their class. Congratulations to the band on an outstanding performance.
