Boone County Schools – Instructional Model Status for the week of October 26th-30th.
Our primary objective is effectively educating our students and we must accomplish that objective by keeping our students, our staff, and our community safe. We are very concerned about the academic, socio-emotional, mental, and the physical health of our students and we also believe that we must work to provide more in-person instruction to our students. After reviewing our district closure criteria today, we will continue to provide in-person instruction using our A/B hybrid model for the week of October 26th – 30th.
The daily new COVID-19 cases for the entire population of Boone County is currently 16.6 new cases per day per 100k population, which is in the ORANGE or high level. We are closely watching and concerned that the trend line of the daily new COVID-19 cases is increasing over the last several weeks. Students, staff, and parents should diligently follow the safety protocols in place. To view this data, go to the COVID Act Now or Harvard Institute for Global Health websites.
We will pay close attention to the state of the pandemic in our community and region and will reevaluate the status of our instructional model next Thursday, October 29th for the week of November 2nd - 6th.
