Process and Performance Management (PPM) exists within the Operations Department of BCS. The 21st Century classroom is a function of systems thinking that must consider a whole is the sum of its parts. Our goal is to optimize all available resources employing the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC) framework. Traditionally, PPM was applied solely to Operational functions, but BCS PPMD has begun and will continue to build application to Teaching and Learning functions as well. Past projects have included transportation, enrollment, and work order flows, with current projects relating to Board Contract Approval and RtI among others. Each project is led by cross-departmental teams comprised of district personnel including principals (or their representatives) whose voice is absolutely critical to attaining sustainable beneficial results. Each team collaborates to identify and address a problem that improves a process aligned with the BCS District Strategic Plan. Our determinations and implementations establish efficient use of resources to ensure that every Boone County Student is College, Career and Life ready.
