Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Days
We hope this letter finds you and your family well. As we approach the possibility of weather-related or emergency disruptions to our regular school schedule, we want to ensure you are informed about our plan for Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days.
What Are NTI Days?
NTI days are designed to allow students to continue their learning from home when it is not possible to have in-person classes. These days help minimize the disruption to the academic calendar and ensure that our students stay on track with their studies.
How NTI Days Work
On an NTI day:
Student Attendance: Students must login and attend each class period at the regularly scheduled time. Links to virtual class meetings will be provided by the teacher.
Assignments and Materials: Students will receive assignments in advance or through online platforms, such as Google Classroom or Canvas. Paper packets will also be provided for students without internet access or have special circumstances.
- Teacher Support: Teachers will provide instruction virtually through an online platform. Teachers will also be available during school hours via email to answer questions and provide support.
- Submission of Work: Assignments are expected to be completed and submitted within 5 school days from the NTI day.
Preparation for NTI Days
To ensure a smooth experience for NTI days:
● Verify that your child has access to the necessary resources, such as a device, internet connection, and login credentials for online platforms.
● Review the NTI plan and assignments with your child in advance.
● Encourage your child to reach out to their teachers with any questions or concerns.
Communication During NTI Days
The decision to activate an NTI day will be communicated through the district’s messaging system, school websites, and local news outlets. Please ensure your contact information is up to date with your child’s school office.
We appreciate your partnership in making NTI days a success for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support of Boone County Schools.
