Ryle High School held the 10th annual Gross Motor Skills Track and Field Day for medically complex students on the Ryle Football field. Recreational games and track activities are the focus of this event meant to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance and coordination of these students. Over 700 medically complex students, student volunteers and staff participated in this event. Students were treated to pizza for lunch along with healthy snacks and water throughout the program. Three other Northern Kentucky School districts participated: Walton-Verona, Kenton and Campbell counties. Each student earned and received a medal! Students in gray shirts are volunteer students taking a Gross Motor Skills class in their high schools. They are helping their "buddies" in orange shirts. There are also teachers and other staff working are also wearing gray shirts as well.
