At the March 12 Board Meeting, the Boone County Board of Education approved the Demographics and Growth Committee’s recommendation to adjust middle school attendance boundaries. As part of this change, the following subdivisions will be reassigned from Ballyshannon Middle School to Camp Ernst Middle School:
Alson Place
Carters Mill
Castlewood Estates
Creekside
Gunpowder Trails
Hawks Landing
Hearthstone
Longbranch Estates
Pebble Creek
Pleasant Hill
Stillwater
A portion of Camp Ernst Road north of Longbranch Road
The second phase of the redistricting project will reassign the following areas from Ballyshannon Middle School to Gray Middle School:
Mary Lou Estates
Teutonia Estates
Fairview – west of Big Bone Road
Castle Bluff Estates
A small portion of Big Bone Road
As part of this transition, current 6th and 7th grade students attending Ballyshannon Middle School may choose to remain at Ballyshannon through a grandfathering option. In addition, families of current 5th grade students who were previously districted for Ballyshannon but are now assigned to Camp Ernst or Gray Middle School may request a School Choice option.

These forms will remain open through April 12. This timeline allows the District Planning and Placement (DPP) Office sufficient time to update enrollments and ensure incoming 6th grade students are assigned to the correct school for upcoming transition activities and tours.
